HITS Theatre begins their spring season with Tony award-winning musical, Crazy For You. Featured on Broadwayworld.com, the musical comedy will be performed at Miller Outdoor Theatre.

Crazy For You, based on the 1930 musical Girl Crazy  with a book by Ken Ludwig, is a high-energy comedy of mistaken identities, plot twists, fabulous costumes and dances, and classic Gershwin music. The Broadway musical is a story about Bobby Child, a stage-struck NYC banker who heads to desolate Deadrock, Nevada to foreclose a rundown theater. It’s love at first sight when he runs into spunky Polly Baker, the theater owner’s daughter, who doesn’t realize he’s the heartless businessman she’s vowed to get even with.

Led by director Chesley Santoro Krohn, over 40 HITS Theatre students will perform including 16-year-old Caroline Cox, who plays Polly Baker, and 16-year-old Sean Holshouser, who plays Bobby Child.

Caroline Cox is a Miller Outdoor Theatre stage regular, performing in Legally Blonde, The Addams Family, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Ragtime, Hairspray and Cats. Cox talked with Broadwayworld.com about how she loves how "HITS Theatre has such a great history in the community with one of their most well-known collaborations being the annual spring musical production at Miller Outdoor Theatre in Hermann Park."

The Gershwin extravaganza is a performance not to be missed. Performances run March 31-April 2 and April 7-April 9 at Miller Outdoor Theatre at Hermann Park.

This is a ticketed event for the covered seating area. Free tickets are available (4 per person over age 16 while they last) at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance between the hours of 10:30am-1pm. If tickets remain at 1pm, the box office will re-open one hour before show time to distribute the remaining tickets. As always, open seating on the hill. Tickets are also available by making a donation to HITS Theatre. Please contact HITS at 713-904-3359 or visit www.hitstheatre.org/miller/miller-tickets.html.
